Book Review: It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

REVIEW: 6 STARS
"Preventing your heart from forgiving someone you love is actually a hell of a lot harder than simply forgiving them."

I'm pretty sure I have no idea how to begin and end this review...I do know my emotions are all over the place. I do know that this is the best book I've ever read and is the first book to ever affect me the way this one did. Seriously. I'm a mess....this book is pure emotion. You won't be able to put it down.

Naked truth: This book was the most emotional rollercoaster I have EVER been on. This book was written from somewhere deep within.....she borrowed us a piece of her soul. This story was breathtaking; it wreaked havoc on my emotions. This book was everything I could have hoped for and nothing I would have ever expected. It was the epitome of perfection and I'm still shaking my head.

I will admit that I've been very #BookBlessed more often than not, as I pick my books carefully, listening to every recommendation and choosing what to read.....but if there is ever another book that I will add to the other two I always recommend, it will be THIS one. I will never be the same after this book. Ever.
Ever.

My soul aches.
My stomach is in knots.
My heart hurts.
My eyes are red.
My face is blotchy.

This is my one and only 6 star review for the year.....I can honestly say no book will ever come close to this. This book was moving. It was fluid. It was emotions amplified. It was everything you could ever want in a heartfelt story that encompassed the true definition of pure love. Every bit.

It makes me wonder if my review will be heartfelt enough; will be emotional enough; will be satisfying enough....just to get at least ONE person to pick it up read it. Because this book is going to change everything you thought you knew about your perceived reality.

All of Me by John Legend is playing as I write this, and my heart is crying all over again. I can't stop crying. I just can't stop.....
