REVIEW: 4 STARS
"Jersey and desperation had an intimate relationship."
I feel like this one is going to really stir up some emotions leading to some heated debates and discussions....and that's what I'm here for!! Bring'em on!!
I know I am always saying I love Jewel's books - I will never hide the fact that she is one of my favorite authors. I love her angst. I love the way she twists a story completely out of left field. She always gives me the most intimate scenes ever, and they are usually hard ones to get through. But most of all, I love the way she gives me the story I'm always craving - one that is deeper than the words she is using to tell it. One that takes a certain level of realization; slowing down and really listening to the story she is telling me. And here I am, once again.....discussing yet another twisty tale of perfection, complete with a a tear or two. Yes, I had to actually admit to her that the sadness and reality between two completely different worlds can be that vast and cruel.
Jersey Six was definitely a book that gave me a deeper look into some seriously deprived lives. But this was also the dirty and gritty side to the beginning of an unknown love story. I loved Jersey's anger mixed with HIS smiles. It was the PERFECT dynamic. Jersey's story is a slow build with an intense ending.
With Jewel, her intricacies and depth are a married emotion that provides a complexity - unmatched. This complexity allows me to to walk away and ponder and work through all the emotions she is causing me, without feeling like I am going to forget something when I step away. How she manages to infuse humor into something so heartbreaking is beyond me. Whether I have to stop or want to reflect on her words, it never ceases to amaze me the quality of her stories. This dynamic is beyond intriguing. So many variables between the characters.

"Revenge held its own intimacy."
There is a deeper side to Him that I was very......suspicious about. So I kept reading, because I needed to know. His strength, though? Holy shite. By the time I got to the end, I wanted to hug Him and Jersey so bad. His character defines the true meaning of genuine. Real. Heartfelt. Honest. Sincere. I honestly read this book with an air of pessimism the entire time. I was so gun-shy on how I was processing everything because at first glance, nothing was as easy as it appeared.
"Pain wasn't worth an apology."
Jewel E Ann does not tell the same story twice. I have gotten many messages on the book and while the confusion is there....go with it. Follow it as she’s telling you because while I did drop a tear with a sad realization, it was a pretty deep book with a lot more meaning than I anticipated. I like how JEA dives into the complexities of her characters. This was NOT an easy book to read. There will be some parts that may make you side-eye the characters. There will be some that may have you questioning their motives. And there will be some that make you furious.....but push through that anger. I want you to really see the emotion that is Jersey and who she really is. And why.
Jewel E. Ann has a way of making her readers uncomfortable, but for good reason. I love that she is able to put me in her characters’ minds while she manipulates my emotions as if it were child’s play, yet - I love it every single time.

"Every single thing about him had the power to destroy her if she didn't destroy him first.

This line right here. This is the one that gave me the tears. The context alone was enough to move my heart....
