Book Review for Love Sprung From Hate by Sienna Miller

LOVE SPRUNG FROM HATE

I didn’t know she was a detective, the only daughter of the Chief of Police.
I didn’t know he was a mafia Prince, heir to the Tyrell’s bloody empire.

It was only supposed to be one night.
God help me, I can’t stop thinking about that night.
So when she walked into the interrogation room, my heart almost stopped.
I can’t believe he might have tortured and killed someone.

I have to avoid her at all costs.
I will be his downfall.
So begins a deadly game of cat and mouse, of blood and lust, of love and duty, and of an attraction so fierce the consequences are inevitable…

Inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, this is a retelling for mature audiences. Don’t enter the Underworld if you’re scared of the dark.

REVIEW: I need more......two more books, to be exact!
"He was exactly the kind of man my mother would warn me about. Dominant without trying...."

This was my FIRST book by Sienna Blake and I am so glad I read her and I am seriously invested in this storyline now!!! In the beginning, I was a little concerned because I wasn't connecting, so I had to step away for a little bit. I set it down and did a few things around the house, posted a few things on my blog page; just general things to take my mind off what was bothering me about the way this one was written, or how I was reading it. Sienna was a new to me author, and I wanted to give this book a chance but I wasn't hearing her voice. I was just reading some words, so I needed to step back and try again. And I did. And boy, am I glad I did. I'm so glad I listened to her voice and what she was telling me. This story was a very good story.

Is it angsty? I wouldn't necessarily say that....but there is noticeable buildup and the intensity is obviously there. Roman and Julianna's meeting was coincidental, but the pursuit was all orchestrated by one determined man that knew exactly what he wanted once he saw it. Roman made this book for me. He was all kinds of alpha and swoony.

"He was such a contradiction. Domineering and fierce, yet funny and playful."

Is it sexy? Oh gosh, yes! These two together were undeniably drawn to each other and they were HOT!!! My favorite part? Roman had ONE rule for Julianna when she went to his place that first night, and that opened the door for some serious face-fan-worthy fuckery. Yes, I know....bad girl for using such words, but holy hell! He was all sorts of knowledgable in the bedroom. Sign me up for his rules!!! HAHA! It makes me blush at how willingly she let him take control and work her. It was HOT. But I'm tellin' ya....I don't blame her at all. Not even a little bit. I will say this, I messaged a friend about how I think this one will play out and I am anxious to see if I am even partially correct.

"This woman was like a drug. I wanted to have her over and over again."

This book was a romantic suspense with a mafia storyline, and would you believe this was my first mafia book? I know, crazy, right? It was gritty and gruesome in some spots, hot and delicious in others. The romantic storyline itself grabbed me immediately. With it being a mafia book, it is very descriptive, so you get to read everything going on and boy did I cringe a few times!! I was thoroughly invested in this book and the characters, and I was really enjoying the push and pull of the good girl/bad boy routine. By the time I settled into the book, I couldn't put it down and it read very quickly. This is an awesome retelling of Romeo and Juliet. I am excited to read more.

BOTTOM LINE TRUTH: I almost DNF'd this book. I hate admitting this but I almost did. However, if need be, I'm telling you to NOT STOP. Keep reading this one. It was (it IS) very long winded; the heroine had some inner monologue that was horrendously repetitive and there are complete paragraphs in here that have 4-5 sentences saying the exact same thing. Like, I get it....ok, I really get it!! I loathe fluff in books. I honestly don't think it was necessary in this book because the storyline was that good. BUT. I finished it. I pushed on and I am *SO* glad I did. So very glad. I can easily recommend this book and I'm looking forward to The Scent of Roses. The cliffie this one left us on was a brutal one and it made me gasp! I feel bad for Roman for the position he is in, but I feel horrible for the position Julianna is in as well! Rock, meet Hard Space.

"If it feels right, then do it. Carpe the fuck out of that diem."
