So....let's be real; who has NOT been waiting on pins and needles for Bridger's story??? Ever since I read about him in Wicked Fall, I have been waiting anxiously for his story to come out. And once again, Sawyer Bennett did NOT disappoint. The strength in the steps Bridger took with Maggie showed her allure for him, her patience with him, and his need for her....what a story. LOVE. There is so much to discuss about this one...so much.

I want to say, this was one story with many different possible interpretations. On one hand, I can ask why Maggie was so willing to give so much to him when he wasn't willing to give anything. I can easily ask that. But on the other hand, I can admire this woman who has an insane amount of inner strength and patience for a man that has NO clue how to love someone. No clue as to how to let go of his own demons and allow himself to be loved. She had so much compassion for him. To be able to appreciate all that he has gone through, and to still have enough patience to let him work through all his internal issues, she was a very strong woman. I really admired her and she is one of my favorite heroines from SB.

The drama in this book was a very scary scenario!! Maggie went through her own hell that we were introduced to at the end of Wicked Ride when Kyle brought her over to Bridger's house with barely an explanation and left. I was on the edge of my seat by the time things were set in motion and the story was picking up the pace. Things were getting hairy and I couldn't put the book down!

But, true to SB style, things got HOTTER than HOT very quickly. Bridger was so rough around the edges, true to form in every way, but we knew he was hiding some serious pain. Seeing him unfold during this story was fascinating as he truly was a complex character with deep seated issues. But his mouth!!! DIRTY TALKER. I'm so in love....bahahaha!! Bridger and Maggie had a connection unlike any other. So rough on the outside, so tender and deep within. I loved seeing Bridger war within himself how to handle these feelings that were so foreign to him. There was some serious unchartered territory covered between these two, and watching them feel their way around intimacy and a supposed relationship was beautiful. Hard, but beautiful.
