Book Review and Giveaway for Stay by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

STAY
by SARINA BOWEN AND ELLE KENNEDY

Can you fall in love with someone you've never even met?

Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch—an anonymous virtual assistant service—is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.

Although it's against the rules for her to check his file, she's 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting... until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.

Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He's still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth—that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won't show her pretty face.

But it's nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can't fix. Hailey can't resist the offer. Matt can't resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn't have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.

REVIEW: 4 Sweet Stars
"The best things in life are the ones you don't expect."

Do you really need me to tell you how wonderful this book was?
Do you really need me to tell you to go out and buy this book?
Do you really need me to tell you how their story flowed?
Do you really need me to tell you how perfect this couple was for each other?

Nope. You don't really need that, because you already know that. Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy have honestly perfected feel-good, easy to read, addicting love stories. Their cadence? Great. Their characters? Relatable. The storylines? Engaging. Win. Win. Win. I know I can pick up any of their books and settle in for a guaranteed good read.

I admire that while Sarina and Elle make sure that we get to see the POPULAR and elaborate side to these hockey players, what stands out and makes these books so good is that we get to meet them on a one on one basis, and we get to see that they are normal, REAL people with REAL feelings. Even though the players are held to a higher standard, or put on a pedestal, because they are in the "public eye" as sports stars, I love that these stories are really down to earth and relatable and we get see the characters' struggles and fears too. This book allowed us to take this journey in Hailey and Matt's lives while they navigated the possibility of a new love, bundled with the very real insecurities caused by their pasts. These two meshed really well, and the fact that it was almost instant made me adore them even more. I love the feeling of finding the "one" and it just clicking immediately. Hailey and Matt were HOT together, too. So very hot. This duo does it right.

The book started out super playful and fun. It was light and easy and it made for a great beginning to a story that I just didn't want to end. I loved visiting with Wes and Jamie, and Blake and Jess too!! While this is the second book in the series, the stories are all standalones and you won't miss anything jumping into this one. Nothing is given away and I think the only thing you could possibly miss out on is the introduction to Matt Eriksson, but we truly meet him and get his background in this book.

There wasn't any heaviness to this book. There wasn't any serious drama. It was just an honest to goodness great book. I laughed pretty good and really found myself smiling right along at the antics going on. Do I hate Kara with every fiber of my being? You betcha! She showed another side to her and I had a hard time dealing with her nastiness....but I am sure there are exes out there just like that. Holy cow. She was a doozy. HA!

I don't know how they make it seem so effortless, but this book proved that they have undeniable talent. I loved this book and I love this duo. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Will O'Connor's book next.....the lead-up was like dangling a chocolate cupcake in my face!! What. A. Tease. I want more books in this series from these two ladies!!

"Every sound she makes is like a hit off some fantastic drug, fogging my senses and turning me on more and more."
