Book Review and Giveaway for Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy

GOOD BOY
by SARINA BOWEN & ELLE KENNEDY

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear.

REVIEW: 4.5 STARS
"Why does such an annoying human have to be so freaking attractive?"

I am a HUGE fan of Sarina and Elle's joint ventures!! I read Him and Us and they ended up on my Favorites List for 2016 and after reading them, I waited with bated breath for the next book that would naturally follow this series. Good Boy is a standalone and is Jess and Blake's book, but we get introduced to them in HIM and US  and I knew immediately that I wanted to read their story.

Blake is your typical sexy hockey player, because....aren't they all? Well, at least they are in Sarina and Elle's world, and I will happily stay in their world! HAHA! But what sets him apart from most is that he has a unique sense of humor and outlook on life. I loved his easy, quirky demeanor and, while I questioned how he was always upbeat and even questioned his maturity level at some point, I loved that side of him. It honestly took a little getting used to but you can't help but notice he is all heart. A HUGE heart. Most memorable for me though is the fact that he may be a goofball with not a worry in sight, but he has the best intentions and the purest of needs to take care of Jess and that was very apparent. Very much so. He always knew what she needed and was patient enough to stand by while she tried to figure it all out. And my gosh, he was hilarious! He was SO funny in some spots.

This book is the very personification of opposites attract. With these characters being such polar opposites, it allowed us to see how well they worked with each other while clashing against each other, but ultimately with a purpose. While Jess was trying to find her way in the world and trying to figure out who she was while following her newest ambition, Blake knew who he was and was comfortable while waiting for her and I found this so attractive about him. Jess did NOT want to give him the time of day, so that obviously gave plenty of fodder for Blake to mess around with. It was comical on so many levels. Refined meets relaxed, his heart of gold is redeeming in every aspect and his carefree personality meshed really well with Jess' uptight and stressed personality. I honestly loved their dynamic. Elle and Sarina did an amazing job making us picture this....this oaf, this doofus in Blake that made Jess cringe and it made it refreshing and funny to read for me. The coming to terms with her feelings part was priceless. As silly as Blake was, he was a softie at heart and only had the best intentions when it came to Jess' heart. Again, HUGE heart. Blake was so perfect for her.

One of my favorite things is to figure out the meaning behind the title of a book, and this one has a double meaning, I feel, and it is perfect! The depth of this story is heartfelt and I enjoyed every facet of this book. I loved the sweet and tender moments as well as the hilarious and entertaining moments. It was the perfect start to a new series by these two authors and I am looking forward to the next book, STAY, which will release in June 2017. There isn't a synopsis yet for it, but once I get it, I will share it with you all!!

"She's always ribbing me, that sweet blonde angel of mine. I know she loves our verbal foreplay as much as I do. She's just too stubborn to admit it."

EXCERPT
As long as Noah and I have known one another and as close as we are, he’s far from an open book. He holds some of life’s secrets so close to the vest, he’ll likely take them to his grave. So how he knows Ms. Randi Deveraux of La Dolce Vita is still a mystery he won’t divulge.

When he told me his plan and showed me the picture of the woman who’d play my love interest for the next several months, I was immediately drawn to the her, but it took me a few seconds to realize why.

It was her.

My spicy little Goldilocks.

The one I haven’t heard from.

The one I haven’t been able to get out of my fucking head for the past eight days.

The one my cock involuntarily gets hard for in the dark of night.

The glossy-colored print I stared at for long minutes was a complete contradiction to the fiery woman I’d met.

On paper her exterior was flawless. Not one sculpted eyebrow out of place. Striking blue eyes rimmed with the right amount of shadow, liner, and mascara that made them alluring but not slutty. Pouty lips painted a deep shade of maroon, lined impeccably so the stain didn’t seep, then glossed enough in the middle to draw your attention to their fullness. Hair curled into loose ribbons that fell over her shoulders and down her slim back.

But while the outside was practiced perfection, the inside screamed dead. Not damaged, not broken or bruised, but lifeless. This beautiful creature went through the motions. She moved through life without living. I don’t know how I saw it, or why, but I know it wasn’t a product of my overactive imagination. This woman’s pain was rooted deep but she put on an award-winning façade that told the outside world otherwise.

I saw the same thing when I stared into her fierce eyes under the cover of my sunglasses days ago, but I also saw something else. Smoking embers buried under piles of ash. God help me, but for some reason I want to be the man who stokes those smoldering cinders until they spark into a burning inferno, bringing her roaring back to life.

Standing before her now, I’ve no doubt I’m the igniter, the single match needed to wake her from the living dead.

“Summer, is it?” I close the door behind me and move to the couch, gesturing for her to sit.

She doesn’t. She just blinks rapidly like she’s seeing a ghost. That makes me smile for some reason.

I know the name she’s using is fake. I hate it. Not the name, per se, but the fact that I don’t know her real one. I told Ms. Deveraux my circumstances and my concern around using a fake name. The press will eventually find out and it’s best if we’re up front in the beginning rather than if they dig, thinking we’re hiding something. That would be disastrous. She agreed but told me the decision was up to Summer. If she agreed to my terms, I could plead my case. If not, then her anonymity was still protected.

“You don’t look like a Summer,” I say casually as I take a seat and cross my legs.

Although in a way she does. She’s hot and sultry and I’ve no doubt she’s nice and moist in the place I’m dying to drive my cock. Jesus, she is absolutely mouthwatering. And she has the sexiest fucking voice I have ever heard. It’s no wonder I can’t stop thinking about her.

She crosses her arms and cocks a hip in irritation. “Is that so? What do I look like then?”

Mine.

Why that disturbing word pops into my head, I haven’t a clue. She is yours temporarily, though. If she agrees.

“How is your neck by the way?”

That seems to catch her off guard because her cocky bravado falters. “Uh…fine. It’s fine.” She unconsciously reaches up to palm it. My fingers itch, wishing they were on her skin instead. I still remember the electricity that ran down my arm when I touched her before. It set my cock on fire and it hasn’t stopped burning since. “You’re lucky, you know. I could be wearing a neck brace right now and be lawyered up.”

“And you’d still be just as beautiful.” I ignore the lawyer comment. I know it’s just a dig. When she blushes and looks away, my grin gets wider and I allow myself a few seconds to absorb her, head to toe. I find myself zeroing in on that tiny diamond stud in her nose, now catching the light. I first noticed it when she pounded on the window of my Rover calling me names. I generally find them childish, yet on her, I find myself incredibly turned on by it.

“Why don’t you take a seat?” On my lap would be preferable.

Defiant eyes snap back to mine. “Hit and run anyone else lately?”

“Hit and run?” I chuckle. “I didn’t hit and run you. I took accountability.”

“Yeah. After I dumped car parts into your lap, it was pretty hard to deny it any longer.”

Hell. This woman is full of restrained passion. She just needs someone to help her unleash it in a very controlled manner.

“Why haven’t you called about your car? Change your mind on whose fault it was?” I’m goading her, but Hot. Damn. The sparks firing from her are overly addictive.

“Oh, it was your fault, all right,” she snaps. “And I’ve been…busy.”

“Yes, I can imagine you have a very full schedule.” I sound more sarcastic than I intend, but the thought of her with other men makes me feel exactly the way I felt when I thought of Noah with her.

Her lips thin. She’s madder than a hornet. I’m harder than a two by four.

“Why are you here, Drive By?”

Drive By? I laugh at her feisty spirit. God, I want to kiss her. Feel her tongue sparring eagerly with mine. See if she tastes of rage and raw energy.

“I was under the impression you were agreeable to meeting with me.”

When Noah set this up, I insisted on three things.

One: it take place in Ms. Deveraux’s private home with her alone. There’s no way in hell I will be caught on film coming and going from her “business.”

Two: I meet with Ms. Deveraux in advance and work through the contractual details to my satisfaction. Let’s just say I now feel comfortable we have a mutual interest in keeping this arrangement buried deep.

And three: I be allowed to personally meet with “Summer” before she signs the contract. Surprisingly, that was the toughest piece to negotiate. Seems Ms. Deveraux is very protective of her, or maybe she’s that way with all of her employees.

Everything I have done to secure her has deviated from Ms. Deveraux’s normal course of business, but this situation is far from normal. It’s reckless at worst. Precarious at best.

“How did you find me?”

Sheer, dumb luck.

“I’m very resourceful.”

Her forehead creases. “This is a mistake.”

She turns to leave and I panic. True blistering panic sears through me at the thought she’s about to walk through that door and I may never see her again. I don’t know her real name. I don’t know how to contact her and if this meeting goes south, I know I won’t get anything further about her from Randi Deveraux. If she walks out on me now, I highly doubt she’ll give me the time of day when she finally does call Dane about her car.

I don’t know why I care that I spend the next few months with her and only her so damn much. I just do.

“Wait,” I plead.

She stops but doesn’t turn. I have no idea what possesses me, but I close the distance between us until I’m a whisper away. Our body heat plays off each other, growing hotter by the second.

“You haven’t even listened to my proposal,” I say against her ear.

Her breath kicks up. Good. She’s not unaffected by me, and that will play into my hand nicely.

“You can get someone else,” she replies softly, without conviction.

Drawing her long hair off her shoulder, I let my finger feather across her bare flesh. It’s soft and silky. She shivers. I suppress a moan. Fuck, I want her so much. It makes no sense.

“I don’t want anyone else,” I tell her truthfully, keeping my voice low.

“Why?” she breathes.

I don’t know why. I have no idea what it is about her that draws me in. I wish I did. I need to stop it. I should end this right now—look at a dozen other pictures and pick a woman whose very presence doesn’t twist me into knots and make me have thoughts I’ve never had before. Thoughts that make me uncomfortable. It’s unnerving.

But, fuck me. I can’t. There is just something different about this woman and I won’t rest until I find out what it is.

“Have a seat. Just hear me out. Please,” I tack on sincerely.

She stands motionless and I wonder what her next move will be. My hands curl into fists as I restrain myself from throwing her over my shoulder and hauling her to my house. I think she could benefit greatly from a hard hand and a red ass. I have a feeling she might even enjoy it.

When she floats effortlessly to one of the velvet-covered chairs, I release a veiled breath. Picking up the contract from the edge of Ms. Deveraux’s desk, I make myself comfortable across from her and place the paperwork on the table separating us. Her eyes drop to it but she makes no move to pick it up.

“So what’s your proposal, Mr. Knowles?”

“Mr. Knowles?”

“That’s your name, right? Dane Knowles. Wildemer & Company?”

Amused, I rest my elbows on my knees and grin at her. “No. Dane is my assistant. I told you to call him and he’d take care of the damage to your death box.”

“Death box?” She sounds offended.

“Do you know what the safety rating is on that little tin can you drive?” When she opens her mouth to respond, I talk over her. “Five point seven out of ten. You’re basically driving around in your own steel coffin.”

I expect a hot retort or for her to leave in a huff. What I don’t expect is a genuine, breathtaking smile that lights up her face like summer and makes my cock knock uncomfortably on my zipper in a futile attempt to reach her. My God, she’s trying to kill me already.

“Are you a walking Kelly Blue Book of safety ratings, Mr.…?”

“I have a vast array of useless Trivial Pursuit knowledge up here,” I retort with a smirk, finger pointing to my temple. I’ll never admit that I looked it up after our little accident. She could be seriously hurt in that ridiculous miniature box on wheels that somehow passes for a fucking car. Hell, had I hit her any harder, she would be in the hospital. “And I’m Shaw. Shaw Mercer.”

“Shaw Mercer,” she repeats slowly like she’s tasting my name for the first time. Savoring every consonant and every vowel. Fuck. I sit back and cross one leg over the other to hide my rock-hard erection.

“Any relation to Preston Mercer?”

I nod, impressed that she tied me back to my father instead of referring to me as one of Seattle’s most eligible bachelors. She’s intelligent and up on politics. I like that. Immensely. If you ask three-fourths of the residents of Seattle, they wouldn’t be able to tell you how many branches of government there are, something that’s taught in middle school, let alone who the mayor of Seattle is.

“So why is the mayor’s son…here?”

Her eyes are locked on mine, waiting on an answer.

When she swallows I follow the delicate line of her neck down to the swell of her breasts that peek out from the light pink strapless flowing dress she’s wearing like a fucking Greek goddess. One flick of my finger and I could find out the color of her areolas and the size of her nipples before I draw one into my mouth for a sample. My mouth waters at the thought.

The conversation that Ms. Deveraux and I had earlier about expectations sits hard in the pit of my stomach. On one hand, I was relieved to get confirmation she doesn’t sell herself, only her “time,” but now that I’m sitting here in front of her, I won’t rest until she lets me explore every square inch of not only her perfect body, but her complex mind. I want to know her like no one else has.

When our gazes connect again I’m sure mine is full of unmistakable heat. Hers definitely is.

She clears her throat and straightens her back. “I think you have the wrong idea about what it is I do.”

“I don’t,” I state plainly.

“I don’t sleep with my clients, Mr. Mercer.”

Oh, but you will. We both know our ingredients are explosive.

“Women would pay to have sex with me, not the other way around.”

She huffs a laugh as a wry look crosses her face. “Then what is it you need if not a good fuck?”

I chuckle and when I lean forward she straightens her spine. I love that even the simplest of movements I make in her direction affect her, just like she does to me. “Is that what I’ll be missing with you? A good fuck?” I won’t be missing a damn thing. She will be mine in every conceivable way. I know it and so does she.

“Not just good. Life altering,” she banters smoothly.

Now it’s my turn to smile slowly. What I wouldn’t give to throw her up against the wall and show her just what a life-altering fuck really is. For what seems like forever we stare at each other in some sort of weird silent challenge where we’re waiting to see what move the other will make.

Shaking myself out of her spell, I pick up the papers and hand them to her.

“What’s this?”

“Your employment contract.”

“All the paperwork is handled through Randi.”

“I want a little extra insurance.”

She quickly flips through the five-page document before lifting her eyes. “Nondisclosure agreement? This is sounding very fifty shades-ish. And just so you know, if I find any mention of hard limits or safe words, that’s a deal breaker.”

I can’t help but laugh loudly.

“I’m not kidding,” she says, her voice stern.

“Trust me, Goldilocks, if I could have gotten that past your warrior she-devil, I would have.”

Her eyes narrow, but I see a little twitch at the corner of her mouth so I forge ahead, making a mental note to invest in handcuffs and a flogger. Or six.

“The duration is for approximately the next four months. Ten hours a week, maybe more, maybe less, depending on my schedule. You may be required to travel and you will be available at all times when I need you, day or night. You will attend social events, fundraisers, business dinners, and family functions. You will be photographed and it’s only fair to warn you, you will likely be hounded by the press but I’ll try to shield you as much as possible.”

She regards me quietly. I wish I could tell what’s spinning around in that pretty little head of hers. A corner of my mouth tips when she says, “Reelection is just around the corner.”

Not a question and I don’t answer, but score another point for her.

For not the first time I wonder if this little plan of Noah’s will backfire, taking us all down in a curl of hot flames. She figured out what I was doing within two minutes. Lianna would be a far safer, more believable choice. But there’s also an undeniable, powerfully charged connection between us that will be hard for people to refute.

“And what is my role, specifically?”

Deciding I don’t care if this entire thing blows up in my face because that means I won’t get what I want—which is her—I stand and step around the table, holding out my hand.

When she tentatively sets hers in mine, I help her up and wrap one arm around her waist.

Pulling her close, I relish in the hitch of her breath. Cupping her cheek, I savor the baby-fine skin under the pad of my thumb. I take a deep breath, drinking in her delicately floral scent. She’s intoxicating and my head is already spinning.

“What are you doing?” she whispers, her small hands going to my chest.

Dipping my head, I trail my nose along her jaw, stopping so my lips brush her ear. “Making sure we have chemistry.”

She mutters a curse under her breath I know I’m not meant to hear before stuttering, “Wh…why?”

Fuck, if she only knew the dirty things running through my head right now.

“Because, my wide-eyed little pretty, you’re going to play my new love interest. My girlfriend. My serious girlfriend.” I emphasize the word so she understands what she’s getting herself into. I won’t pay her to be in my bed but that doesn’t mean she won’t end up there anyway.

“I…I haven’t agreed to anything yet.” Her breathlessness is testing me and she’s only about half an inch away from finding out exactly how much.

Walking into this meeting, I had already agreed to what I thought was a generous offer with her boss, madam, keeper, whatever she’s called. But after the last fifteen minutes, I’ve decided I will pay whatever it takes to have her. To own her. I think I would give away my own soul.

Framing her face with both hands now, I lean in until my mouth is a hairsbreadth from hers. Her eyes fall to my lips. I feel her wariness, but I also feel her hunger. She parts her lips and I watch with a deep ache in my groin as her tongue darts out to moisten them in anticipation of my kiss.

I restrain from slamming my mouth to hers, taking what I want. What she wants me to take, regardless of how she’s trying to refute me.

“But you will. Everyone has a price, Summer. What’s yours?”

LOST IN BETWEEN
by KL KREIG

We all have one.

A price.

That magic number that will get us to agree to do anything, be anything.

Don’t sit on your gold-plated high horse and say you don’t because you do. Everyone does. Each of us has something we covet enough that we’d sell ourselves to have it.

What’s my tipping point, you ask? Apparently a cool quarter mil will do the trick.

What does one do for 250 large, you wonder? Anything the infamous, gorgeous playboy of Seattle wants. For the next four months I’ll be Shaw Mercer’s arm candy, his beck and call girl, his faux girlfriend. I’ll be his to command, mold, push and pull in any direction he sees fit.

I’ll fight falling into bed with him. I’ll fight falling in love with him even harder. I’ll fail at both. And when my past and present collide in the most unexpected of ways, I’ll learn that while one man’s love for me has never died, the only man’s love I really want will never be mine.

"He won't have to worry about you calling him, that two pump, no good cheating asshole!"

Ok....this was a FUNNY book!! I had *so* much fun reading this book and found myself giggling all the way through it. Holy cow....some parts were seriously over the top funny!!! Was this a heavy and drama filled read? Nah, not really. Was it a tad over the top with scenarios and actions? Oh gosh, yes, but it was FUN. It was a smile inducing, ridiculously FUN read. I laughed more reading this book than I have in a little while. I generally gravitate towards and enjoy heavier, angsty reads, but I also know its nice to break up those heavy, deep reads with a little light and fun in between and this one fit that bill perfectly.

The unconventional meeting of Ram and Dani was the basis behind this hilarious relationship and it caused an infectious smile and giggle throughout the entire book. I seriously loved the banter and the heavy-handed innuendos Ram delivered with ease. Wit and humor are definitely something I enjoy reading, and Ram brought out the naughty in the prim and proper Dani. After it was all said and done, this was a fun take on fate and how amazing it can be. From meeting in an awkward way to running into each other unknowingly to falling in love. Right place, right time. I am a firm believer in fate, and this one put a smile on my face while I read it.

There was one part that got heavy for a bit...one that made me really feel sorry for Ram, and the way it was written, I could truly feeling his pain. It got real. It got hard. It got sad. But, I did love the reality of it when he was dealing with his heartache. It was legit and one that many will identify with.

Now, having told you how funny this book was and how much I enjoyed it, I need to discuss the side characters Andie and Roman. OMFG.....seriously, FUNNY. I am so excited for their story in Hate 2 Lovers coming soon. I laughed so hard at their 'issues' they had and was honestly hoping for a story coming from them.

No secrets. No lies.

Book Review and Giveaway for The Neighborhood by Stylo Fantome

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
by STYLO FANTOME

Things a bad neighbor can do to you:
1. Have loud parties late at night

2. Refuse to mow his lawn

3. Steal your newspapers

4. Rip your heart out and walk all over it

Katya Tocci is willing to admit that she may have bitten off more than she could chew.

Liam Edenhoff showed her a side of life she'd been missing out on - sex and friendship and tacos. But then he betrayed her.

Wulfric Stone taught her that big surprises can come from unexpected places - like from a surly, aggressive, withdrawn bastard. But then he broke her heart.

Now one of them wants forgiveness, and the other wants forever. And Katya? She just wants to forget.

Who knew neighbors could be so difficult?

REVIEW 4 STARS
"If you truly care about someone, then it takes work. Hard, tough, difficult, and sometimes plain god awful work."

TRIANGLE!! Need I say more? Ok, I probably should....but, we all know that I LOVE this trope. The pull on both sides is always a good one. I love that it makes you question your feelings about what is actually happening between each couple and the angst is usually pretty high and I love angst!! Anyway, as I was saying, this was a triangle, and after the first book left off on a cliffie, I was seriously anxious for this conclusion. I did not rate my first review because I was on the fence about it and I wanted more. You can check out my review HERE.

The way this one was written, it totally made me think of what EACH guy offered to Katya and I was biting my nails up until the very end because I knew who I wanted her to be with, but man!! She played it back and forth juuuuust right that I started to question if I really wanted that person for her or not! Liam had some seriously swoon-worthy comments and actions; complete drool-worthy moments. He was a really good friend to her and she had that to lean on after everything that she found out in the first book and working itself into this book. I think Katya made him want to be a better man because he was the polar opposite of Wulf and they were both vying for her attention. Wulf was a hot under the collar, sexy as sin man that knew how to really take care of Katya in all aspects....except his attitude and mouth. That man had issues!! But he also had a soft side that Katya brought out in him and I loved to see that she was able to break him down a little, but then he bounced right back up to his assholishness ways. Like I said, something about each one of them made me love them both individually. I really enjoyed this book. Katya had some growing up to do, some serious thought provoking moments to reflect on and some eye opening moments to learn from.

In the beginning, I was really concerned this was going to become an angry girl revenge story because Katya put them through the wringer. While the guys dealt with some serious crap from HER in terms of getting back on her good side after what she found out at the end of Neighbors, I really enjoyed this series overall. I laughed a lot more in this book than I did the last one too. Liam is so loving and funny and Wulf is so cocky and sexy....what a pickle she was in! This book really picked up the pace for me in terms of Stylo's writing style. I know the first one was different for me but I enjoyed it. She writes in third person, and the joy of that is seeing everyone's reactions. After having read this series, I know that I really need to check out more of her books. Her angst, while subtle, was enjoyable for me.

~MEET STYLO FANTÔME~
Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

Excerpt for Real Good Love by Meghan March

~EXCERPT~

I’m a woman on a mission when I step off my last flight at six o’clock at night, annoyed it took me an entire freaking day to get here since I made my plans at the last minute. As soon as I leave the rental car desk, I’m headed for my first destination. Logan’s shop.

He’s never going to know what hit him. My skirt is short, my heels are tall, and my hair, skin, and nails are perfect from the pampering I managed to sneak in this week.

I pull into the parking lot an hour and a half later, mostly because I was so busy singing along to every kick-ass female anthem on my playlist that I missed the turn and went fifteen miles in the wrong direction.

But no one needs to know that little detail.

The lights are still on, and Logan’s truck is parked in its normal spot alongside the building. No other car remain in the lot.

I pull out my phone and switch it out of airplane mode. I told myself I kept it there all day because I was worried about the safety of my flights and obviously because of the FAA regulations, but that’s total bull.

I didn’t trust myself not to answer what must be at least a few messages from Logan. I wanted this to be a surprise. Like when Logan thought I might be pregnant, this is a discussion that needs to happen in person.

A few text messages pop up from him immediately, and they’re progressively more . . . let’s call it assertive.

MY SEXY MAN: Bruce, call me.
MY SEXY MAN: Seriously, babe. Call me.
MY SEXY MAN: CALL ME.
MY SEXY MAN: This radio silence shit will not fly. Call me, Bruce.
MY SEXY MAN: Banner Regent, don’t even try to dodge me. I know where you are, and I will come to you and show you how a real man handles this situation.

A smile spreads over my face. I’ve come to terms with a few things in the last twenty-four hours, and one of them is that I don’t care if I’m the first one to say those words I’ve been holding back. I love Logan Brantley, and I’m not going to let another day go by without telling him. To his face.

After I park, I slide out of the car, careful not to pull a Britney and flash anyone my vag because I’m going commando under this skirt, and strut my ass up to the entrance.

I push on the door that opens into the waiting room, but it doesn’t budge. Locked. Well, dammit, that’s not part of my plan. I bang on it, but no one comes. The beat of whatever rock song he’s listening to is thumping through the walls.

I pull my phone out of my wristlet and text him back.

BANNER: Open the damn door.

A response pops up in seconds.

MY SEXY MAN: What door?
BANNER: I’m waiting.

REAL GOOD LOVE

I’ve had my fair share of bad boys, but nothing prepared me for what it was like to be with a real good man.
Logan Brantley changed everything.

Somewhere along the way, what started as a fling became the best part of my life.

He makes me want all the things I’ve never had, like forever and happily ever after, but nothing worth having comes easily.

Everyone is betting on us to fail, but I’m ready to fight for this real good love.

Real Good Love is the conclusion of the Real Duet and should be read following Real Good Man.

PURCHASE REAL GOOD LOVE (BK #2)

Fall for a woman over text messages? No way in hell.

Reality can never be as good at the fantasy, right?

Wrong. It’s better.

Banner Regent is smart, funny, and she’s so far out of my league, she might as well be royalty.

I’m a mechanic from Kentucky. She’s a New York City party girl.

We were never supposed to meet, but one text started something neither of us saw coming.

How do you seduce the woman who already has everything?

Show her what it’s like to be with a real good man.

Real Good Man is book one of the Real Duet. Logan and Banner's story concludes in Real Good Love.

Book Review and Giveaway for Egomaniac by Vi Keeland

EGOMANIAC
by VI KEELAND

The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

REVIEW: 5 STARS
"I think you took a wrong turn at the corner of Crazy and Nutjob."

By now, I'm pretty sure you don't need me to tell you how amazing this book was. Everyone has already commented, and all the lists and charts are there to prove it's worth. And it IS worthy because it was THAT good. So, I get to tell you how it made me feel....how it pulled me in and made me laugh hard, out loud - all day long. I loved the give and take, the smart-assery in full effect and the witty banter they had with each other. Drew deserves commendations for his comebacks!! I laughed SO hard at the crazy stuff he said to Emerie and that made this book so relatable and easy to read.

But the relationship between them was REAL. And by that, I mean that we got to see his walls come down, exceptions being made and he unknowingly started to make a friendship blossom with a promise of more. I honestly loved watching this grow. I was able to relate to the little nuances of a new love coming to fruition right under their noses. Their banter was easy and smooth without any awkwardness at all. It was a true depiction of the ease of falling in love....without even realizing it. I loved the dynamics of their releationship. With real fears and insecurities playing into it, it added some honest realism to deal with. The chills, sighable moments and touch of angst topped off this book perfectly.

Did I wish for more? Well, yeah! Of course I did, because I am fairly sure I didn't want this book to end. Ever. It was funny and it defined the RomCom genre to a "T". This was a perfect blend of opposites attract, coworkers (ish) falling in love and friends to lovers. This book was flawless. Epically flawless.

Oh! And I want to play pool with Drew.

"You're an idealist, I'm a realist."

Book Review and Giveaway for Return to Falcon Ridge by DL Roan

Torn between his first love…and a forbidden attraction he can no longer deny.
Jonah McLendon is no stranger to polyandrous love. With his mom married to his three dads, and his brothers sharing a wife, he didn’t think twice when his high school sweetheart, Chloe, revealed her secret desire for a ménage with his best friend. There was only one problem. He didn’t expect to fall for Pryce, too.

Beaten within an inch of his life after Chloe exposes their secret, and Pryce having been shipped off to a religious boarding school a half state away, Jonah tells the biggest lie of his life and leaves Falcon Ridge with his heart in pieces. When he returns a year and a half later, the last thing he expects to find is his best friend engaged to the girl who betrayed them both.

No longer the scared, confused kid he once was, Jonah is determined to get to the bottom of Pryce’s sham of an engagement, but the truth behind Chloe’s betrayal threatens more than his love for Pryce. If he can’t let go of the past and coax Pryce out of the closet, he could lose them both forever.

REVIEW: 5 STARS
"Only this time, instead of the awkward kid next door, he remembered the guy who'd become his best friend; the guy who'd tried to save him the day he'd almost died; the guy he'd fallen in love with."

You know that feeling you get when you have eagerly awaited a story and you finally get it and you can't put it down? You soak it up and you enjoy every minute of it? Yeah....that was this book. DL Roan nailed Jonah and Pryce's story. Yet again, another layer into this family saga that I get to enjoy with a goofy grin on my face and a wide open heart. This has to be one of my favorite ongoing series out there, and this book did not disappoint.

The love in this story was sooo good. Seriously.....<sigh> I have been looking forward to Pryce and Jonah's story ever since we got a glimpse of them in The Hardest Goodbyes. This family has been one of the longest series that I have followed and will continue to do so as more stories come out. They are all standalones, but I would highly recommend starting from the beginning because each story is built upon by the next book. The first book, The Heart of Falcon Ridge, is perma FREE and you can get it HERE.

Pryce and Jonah had a LONG road to get to where they were, but I have to say that the fight was worth it in the end. With revelations, memories, and new and old emotions being discovered, this story really provided a deep read. The devotion that Pryce and Jonah had to their love for not only Chloe, but for each other as well, was profound. When you are willing to suffer just so your true loves don't have to? My gosh....I just ached for them all. My heart really broke for Jonah and Pryce when they had to deal with the hatred and the anger that was dumped on them, causing them to pull away and separate. I just can't imagine people being that mean. I don't understand it. But, when the heart knows what the heart wants, there is no denying that truth. I am so glad that Jonah had his family there to not only kick his butt in gear, but to stand behind him and support him as much as they did. Seeing the entire family play a part in this book just proved how much this family takes care of everyone. I LOVE IT.

By the time it was all said and done, this book was dynamic, it was emotional, and it was HOT. Jonah and Chloe were hot. Pryce and Chloe were hot. Pryce and Jonah were hot. But Jonah, Pryce and Chloe were on fire!!

There was such a great mixture of emotions in this book. I found myself laughing at Grey, rolling my eyes at him and then wanting to hug him. I mean, if you know me, I always want to hug him, but we normally get the hard-headed, stubborn side of Grey. This time we got a little more when Jonah had some heart to heart talks with him. This story allows me to sorta peek in on the entire family and that is one of my favorite things to do. Getting a glimpse of the McLendon family as they have grown in each book makes me smile. It's like going home in my book world for me. And yes...I'm going to say it: with Dani's book to come soon, the wait shall begin again because I am ready for some more!! I loved the beginning look into her story in this one. I am SO excited!!

Take note: the lifestyle this family leads is not your typical lifestyle, but the way Roan tells it is perfect! She gives emotion where emotion is due, but she gives heat where heat is due. I have never read a poly family story, so I immediately fell in love with the different kind of storyline when I started to read it back in 2013 and with each book after it, I have just loved. Most of the storylines for this series have centered around the poly lifestyle, but Jonah and Pryce's story actually felt like it centered around a menage style romance.

I love this family so much.
