SLIP OF THE TONGUE
Sadie Hunt isn’t perfect—but her husband is. Nathan Hunt has her coffee waiting every morning. He holds her hand until the last second. He worships the Manhattan sidewalk she walks on. Until one day, he just…stops. And Sadie finds herself in the last place she ever expected to be. Lonely in her marriage.
When rugged and sexy Finn Cohen moves into the apartment across the hall, he and Sadie share an immediate spark. Finn reveals dreams for a different life. Sadie wants to save her marriage. Their secrets should keep them apart, not ignite a blistering affair. But while Sadie’s marriage runs colder by the day, she and Finn burn hotter.
Her husband doesn’t want her anymore. The man next door would give up everything to have her.

REVIEW: 4.5 STARS
"You can close off your heart, but don't forget--I know how to tear you open."
I love Jessica Hawkins' brand of angst. She has been a favorite of mine ever since I read The Cityscape Series in 2013. Her stories take me for a ride every time. Each book, I am faced with a "what would you do" scenario and she always makes sure that when you read her books, you're forced to question the moral side of things. Every scenario has another side....every.single.one. This one was no different. It made me think quite a bit and I was able to put myself into the storyline emotionally, while trying to read with a rational mind. Trying.
And that is what I love about her stories.
I think my favorite part about this book was that it made ME hypothetically question my OWN reality. It was NUTS!! In this story, something so seemingly perfect had some deep rooted problems and the miscommunication had serious implications. Things you take for granted, things you take for the norm. It was so head-shakingly good. Seriously.
Watching it all unfold was riveting. I couldn't put the book down and kept chatting about it with my girlfriends. They don't read....but really wanted to know what happened and how the story ended. Trying to explain it had me jumping around....it was very definitely a passionate discussion and interesting to see who sided with who in this story.
This book started a little different for me. It's hard to explain but it almost felt stilted. However, after reading farther into the story, I realized it was just Sadie's feelings and it was setting the tone perfectly for the way the book played out. I think the ending was wrapped up in a pretty little bow, but almost a little too perfectly and quickly.
I loved the way Jessica painted each character and the way she confused me emotion-wise. I found myself switching teams a few times while reading this book, and that made me shake my head. #TeamNate or #TeamFinn??? I was so conflicted and I loved feeling the pull from side to side! I love reading forbidden loves.....triangles are my favorite because they make you look at all sides of the story. I'm still thinking about this story the day after I read it. I just shake my head because this one was NOT cut and dry for me!
Nathan's character had serious depth to him, and the reality of his love, and truth behind it, was awe inspiring. His character was so perfect and so well drawn out. He is the man dreams are modeled after...
Finn was the frosting on the cake and never before has two single words ever sounded so effing sexy. He said something to her when they first met and when the realization hits.....swoon. So in love. You need to read this book and meet him. He is.....delicious. Tempting. Forbidden. Yummy. Sinful. <giggle>
"This isn't a beginning or an end. It's just where we are."

~MEET JESSICA HAWKINS~
Jessica Hawkins grew up between the purple mountains and under the endless sun of Palm Springs, California.
She studied international business at Arizona State University and has also lived in Costa Rica and New York City. To her, the most intriguing fiction is forbidden, and that's what you'll find in her stories. Currently, she resides wherever her head lands, which is often the unexpected (but warm) keyboard of her trusty MacBook.
~CONNECT WITH JESSICA~
I love all things Jessica....I have since I met her in October 2013 and I have loved every book she has written. I cannot suggest enough that you read The Cityscape Series and her Night Fever Series.
