Book Review and Giveaway for For Finlay by J Nathan

FOR FINLAY

Finlay Thatcher is a lost soul, guilt-ridden after the death of her twin brother. When Alabama's football coach gives her the opportunity to work for him, she knows it's her chance to move on, even if it means living her brother's dream.

Caden Brooks is Alabama's star quarterback. He's got it all. The attention of adoring fans. A girlfriend who'd do anything to hold on to him. And a future in the pros. He's getting along just fine until Finlay steps into his life, despising him at first sight and pushing his buttons like no other.

Unfortunately for Finlay, and her attempt to keep Caden at arm's length, there's nothing Caden loves more than a challenge. The problem with this challenge is she comes with a secret that has the power to destroy everything.

REVIEW: 4 FANtastic STARS
"He laughed, and when he laughed like that I almost forgot I hated him."

FOLKS!! I found a new author to stalk!!! I seriously RAN to Goodreads after finishing this book and added all of her other books to my TBR....not to mention hunting for the next standalone in this series that has now become a MUST READ for me!! For Finlay was my first read by J Nathan, and it will happily not be the last. I think this will be the start to a promising stalking career for me. If all her books can promise to be this sincere and heartfelt while being uplifting and romantic, I am definitely going to be a happy blogger!

This book immediately pulled me in and I didn't put it down....no respect for the next morning at all. I was up way too late reading it. Seeing all the inspiration she has on her BLOG for Caden and Finlay makes me smile even more because I could see and feel what she was trying to relay while telling their story....I am just in love with these two!! I liked the young alpha side to Caden. I think she gave him just enough attitude to come across as strong and confident, but also enough freshness to not make me roll my eyes. I loved his wit and banter, as well as his ability to turn everything Finlay said into something dirty. It made me giggle!

"Stop worrying about what worked for me in the past. Is it working for me now?"

I like a good sports romance, but I was pleasantly surprised that this one didn't only center around that. I really enjoyed the sport side of it, but the romantic side to this story was a refreshing approach to NA for me. I don't generally read NA, but this book hit all the right points for me. There was soft angst, not the tummy twisting kind I crave, but enough to hold my interest. There was heartfelt emotion that actually made me breathe with a hitch and widen my eyes. Finlay had been through something quite tragic, and the emotional parts we went through with her were heartbreaking....and here she is, minding her own when Mr. Cocky inches his way into her life. I liked how she didn't give a damn who he was and what he did, and she basically let him know it. Their back and forth volleying during their conversations was comical and quick witted.

Finding out the meaning of the title of a book is one of my favorite things to discover while reading a new author, and this title had an emotional undertone for me. I felt it was a beautiful moment between Caden and Finlay that made me smile, but more importantly that HE knew and understood what he was saying when he said it. This book had ALL the makings for a smile-inducing, enjoyable read. So so good. So good.

"Being with Finlay was so natural. So comfortable. It was the way she put me at ease, but at the same time put me in my place with a mere look."
