Excerpt for The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken

Excerpt

“Bentley!” Brock barked and shook his head.

“What?” Bentley shrugged then smoothly walked over to Jane and pulled out a box of black highheeled pumps in a size eight and a half. “Your foot, milady?”

Brock rolled his eyes. “Give it a rest, Bentley. She can put on her own damn shoes.”

Bentley completely ignored him. “I love a woman’s foot.” He grabbed Jane’s broken shoe and tossed it to the side while his hands danced along the arch of her foot. His fingertips danced along her skin. Seduction by foot rub? That was new.

“It’s sexy, the arch.” He leaned over her, his lips parting just enough to give her the impression he was thinking about kissing her. “The curve of a woman’s foot reminds me of her body...see? Sexy.” He slid the shoe on a very terrified looking Jane and stood. “Perfect fit.”

Jane’s mouth opened then closed as a rosy flush crept over her face. “Thank you.”

“I bought you my favorite brand.”

Her eyebrows arched. How did he know about Manolo Blahnik? “Oh.” And then she nodded and said loudly, “Ohhhh! That makes sense!”

Bentley’s eyes narrowed. “Me buying women’s shoes?”

“You wearing them,” she explained. “That’s great. I mean, good for you. I’m sorry I’m so awkward at things like this, but it’s good you’re...you know...” She bobbed her head and sputtered. “Out and...comfortable with it.”

“Out?” Bentley repeated. “I’m confused.”

“Of the closet,” she said slowly then saw the scowl on Bentley’s face. “Or maybe you just like to dress like a woman?” She straightened her shoulders and tried again. “In either case, congratulations on your choice to wear women’s clothing!”

Brock about died laughing as Bentley’s horrified expression went from stunned to genuine confusion.

“You heard her.” Brock held his laughter in check. “Congratulations, brother. I’ll take care of the press release: Bachelor Playboy Bentley Wellington and his private women’s shoe collection.”

Bentley let out a strangled laugh. “Yes, and while we’re at it why don’t we remind the press that the clock is ticking on that auction of yours? Hmm?”

“Auction?” Jane asked.

“Don’t.” Brock shook his head. “You don’t want to know.”

“But she probably already does.” Bentley pointed out. “Unless she doesn’t read the news...?”

They both stared at her, waiting for an answer.

“I, uh...” She ducked her head, blushing again. “I read books.”

“How pure.” Bentley smiled and sat down next to her. “And just so we’re clear.”

He leaned in as though he was going to kiss her. “My bat only swings one way...and I can assure you, every time I get thrown a pitch, I hit it out of the park.”

by RACHEL VAN DYKEN

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

Excerpt for The Fix-Up by Kendall Ryan

EXCERPT

“Hey, Camryn. Did I forget something at your office?” he asks.

“No, I just . . . I had some questions for you about tomorrow.”

“Of course. What’s on your mind?”

“Well, when you said hang out, what did you mean?”

Anna’s hand flies over her mouth and her eyes widen.

No sense in beating around the bush.

I can almost hear the smile in Sterling’s voice when he replies. “What do you want it to mean?”

Straightening my shoulders, I sit up taller in my chair. “Oh no, you don’t, mister. Before I agree to spend time with you, there are a few things I need to know.”

“Go for it.”

“How many women have you slept with?”

“Pardon?” Sterling coughs.

Anna is on her feet, making slashing motions across her throat with her hand.

“Your number. What is it?” My tone is calm, controlled. I’m actually enjoying this.

“Is that information you need as my publicist, or as the woman I’ve asked to hang out?”

“Just answer the question, Sterling. Or can you not count that high?”

He lets out a sigh, so brief I barely heard it. For a second, I’m sure he’s going to dodge the question.

“Enough to know what I’m doing. Not enough to make me a total fucking wanker.”

I laugh, despite myself. It’s actually a good response.

“Let me make this clear for you. I like you, Camryn. We’re both adults, and there’s no reason why we can’t hang out and enjoy each other’s company without it turning weird.”

What the hell does that mean? I’m more confused now than before. Maybe this is his last hurrah before becoming a married man.

“I’m not quite sure what to say.”

“We have fun together. Let’s keep it casual and fun; we both deserve that.”

The man has a point.

“But you’re about to be married,” I say.

“Not tomorrow. Not the next day.”

“But soon.”

He exhales. “Yes, and that’s kind of stressing me the fuck out, so I could use a little downtime with someone who gets me.”

I swallow.

“Say yes,” he murmurs.

“Sterling . . .”

“I would never hurt you,” he adds softly.

“Fine, but I’m not having sex with you.”

Anna is now lying on the floor of my office, her face scrunched up in agony, her head in her hands.

“We’ll see,” he says.

A girly bubble of laughter escapes my lips, and I clamp a hand over my mouth. I want to bitch-slap myself for that outburst. But Sterling only seems amused.

by KENDALL RYAN

My tempting and very alpha friend Sterling Quinn is someone I consider off-limits.

It's not just that we're friends, he's also cocky, confident, and British, which means he's a walking aphrodisiac.

But lately he's been giving me the look. You know the one. When he thinks I'm not paying attention, and his gaze lingers for too long.

When we start working together, that's when the sexual tension between us gets so thick, I want to hack through it with a machete. I want to make all these deep feelings I've harbored for him disappear, because there's no way this can end well.

The lines between business and pleasure become irrevocably blurred, and I'm stuck between a rock, and Sterling's very, very hard place.

Rather than keep a level head about our growing attraction, Sterling wants to go all in, showing me just how explosive we can be together.

But I've been around long enough to know that this British bad boy is more than my heart can handle. I'm not about to be cast aside like yesterday's underwear when he's done having fun.

Sterling’s never been told no, and he's not about to put his ego aside and play by my rules. But I never thought he'd fight so dirty.

Book Tour for The Playbook by Kelly Elliot

THE PLAYBOOK
by KELLY ELLIOT

My life revolved around two things. Football and my cock. And not necessarily in that order.

Being the head football coach for a top university in Texas had its ups and its downs.

The ups? Endless women to f*ck.

The downs? The politics that came with the job.

From the moment Aubrey Cain walked into my office, she turned my world upside down. Being forced to have her follow me around for a month was going to be a pain in the ass. Especially since I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her.

The best I’d hoped to come out of this was a few nights with her in my bed. I never imagined she’d be the game changer.

Brett Owens was my assignment.

Head football coach for a top college, bad boy reputation, short temper, and handsome good looks should have scared me off. But I was tougher than that.

From the first words out of his obnoxious, dirty-talking mouth, I knew it was going to be a long month. It wasn’t five minutes after meeting him, he hit on me. If only I had known his blue eyes would haunt my dreams and awaken a desire inside of me I never knew existed.

This was business. There was no way I would be tempted by him no matter how good looking he was or how many things he whispered in my ear.

He was only supposed to be my assignment. Not the man who threatened to destroy both my heart and my career. I would follow along with his playbook for now. But who would end up winning was anyone’s guess.

REVIEW: 4-4.5 STARS
"The big boys don't like it when the girls come play in their sandbox."

This was my FIRST book by Kelly Elliott, it was heavily suggested by a friend, and I am *SO* glad I listened to that friend!  Her words told a great story and they flowed very easily. Ones I could follow and easily watch the story unfold. This was a FUN, smile-inducing, HOT book about two people that should NOT have been falling in love, but fate had other ideas. And a job assignment.....

The way these two met, the way it all played out...I really really enjoyed it. It's not necessarily a forbidden love story, and not necessary an enemies to lovers one either, but it had elements of both in it and I liked how it played in together. It was a well rounded story with some tension thrown in for good measure. But, the best part was seeing this well known ladies man being turned around and learning what true love was. Best. Part. This was my favorite part, because we saw him actually falling in love. We saw him battling his feelings and we saw him finally understanding the difference between one night stands and the one. When I say that I really liked this story, man!! I really did. I am still smiling thinking about it after reading it.

Oh, and did I mention he had a very, very, verrrry dirty mouth? Yep. Panty-melting style.

There was good buildup, there was a great deal of working around an issue and there was a beautiful conclusion; it really came together nicely. I saw desperation in Brett that I really enjoyed seeing. He was humanized by his feelings after we saw this animal on and off the fields, almost robotic. He had a lifestyle he lived very comfortably, and a persona he owned very well. Aubrey was an educated, hard working girl that, while being a bit pushy about one thing, really had her head on straight. She was a hard working woman in a 'man's field', but she was truly an emotional and determined young woman. She knew what she wanted, but had some curveballs thrown her way.

We had some silly reasonings for things that I kinda rolled my eyes at, and some that I shook my head at, but they weren't anything to pull me out of the story for. I will most definitely check out some more of her books because this one included some hot times, some character development and some TRUE love finding it's way. I really liked this story A LOT.

"I'm afraid if I kiss you, I'll get so drunk on your lips I won't be able to stop myself."

Reaching into my brief case, I took out my notebook that I had already filled with research on Brett and the university college program.

I flipped through the endless pages of notes until I found a blank page.

“So, I’m assuming since it’s spring training, I’ll be granted full access to the stadium.” Peeking up at Brett, I added, “That includes the locker rooms.”

His jaw muscles flexed and I couldn’t help but smile. “I’d like to really observe you, Mr. Owens, for the first week or two here at work. Really get an understanding of your work habits and ethics with the team and, of course, your habits away from the team as well.”

His lips parted to say something, but Mr. Stevenson coughed and Brett shut his mouth.

“This piece is going to be about getting to know Brett Owens. Three-time national championship winner.

Youngest head football coach in college football, and rumored ladies’ man.”

“What?” Brett gasped, nearly chocking on his own spit.

I shrugged and flipped through my notes where I found a reference to picture in People magazine.

“Yes, here it is. A picture of you with two women on your arms exiting a bar in downtown Austin. I believe it was on New Year’s Eve.” I held it up for him to see.

His eyes narrowed and I swear they turned black. “What in the hell do you have written down in that book?”

I pointed to my notebook, while keeping my focus fixed on him. “This notebook?”

When his hand combed through his hair, I felt a tug in my lower stomach that I quickly pushed aside.

“Yes, that notebook, Aubrey! I don’t see another notebook on the fucking table.”

My head drew back with raised eyebrows. I quickly flipped back to the empty page and wrote a note.

Curses like a damn sailor.

“Wh-what are you writing?”

I couldn’t help but feel giddy knowing I was getting to him. “Just taking some notes, that’s all.”

Brett leaned closer to me as I covered the note with my hand. “What did you say? I saw sailor written down!”

I flashed him an evil smile which only irritated him more, causing him to curse more under his breath.

Mr. Stevenson sighed heavily next to me. “Oh, for the love of God. The two of you are going to have to learn to play nice. Your boss, Ms. Cain, and the president of the university, want this thing to happen.

Now I hope you will shine a more positive light on Mr. Owens and not focus on his… on his um—”

Brett and I both looked at him, anxiously waiting for him to finish his sentence.

“On my what?” Brett questioned.

With a roll of his eyes, Mr. Stevenson answered, “On the colorful lifestyle you lead outside of work.”

“That was gently put,” I mumbled.

“Ms. Cain,” Mr. Stevenson started.

“Please, call me Aubrey.”

He nodded. “Aubrey, you will have full access so getting in places will not be an issue. I advise you to stick close to Brett until you learn your way around.”

“Thank you, Mr. Stevenson.”

“Pat will be fine.”

“Pat, it is.”

“Now, I believe, Brett, you have a staff meeting at noon.”

I swear it looked like Brett was sitting over there pouting. It probably killed him he had no safe-zone to hide in. I was going to be stuck to him like glue. Oh, this made me all kinds of happy right now.

“Yeah. It’s at noon.”

Pat stood. “Good, show Aubrey around and to the office she’ll be using.”

My heart skipped a beat in my chest. “Thank you, Pat. That means a lot to me to have a place to work while I’m here. That’s very thoughtful of you.”

He looked at Brett and then me. “Don’t thank me, thank Brett. It was his idea.”

My head snapped to the side as I looked at him. That was totally unexpected, and I couldn’t hide the fact that it made my chest tighten some.

Book Tour for Wicked Bond by Sawyer Bennett

WICKED BOND
by SAWYER BENNETT

Bridger Payne is an enigma that no one can figure out. Wise beyond his years, eerily intuitive and sexy as hell, every woman in The Silo wants him.

None can have him.
Not the real man, anyway.

He might wield the lash for you if you ask prettily, but he’ll get no gratification from it. He’ll definitely make you scream, but he won’t think twice about you when he walks away.

Bridger carries the darkest of secrets. He’s filled with too much pain.
He’s utterly untouchable.

Until she came along.

REVIEW: 4.5 STARS
"Because for the first time in my life, I want something I can't have, and I can't have it because I don't deserve it."

So....let's be real; who has NOT been waiting on pins and needles for Bridger's story??? Ever since I read about him in Wicked Fall, I have been waiting anxiously for his story to come out. And once again, Sawyer Bennett did NOT disappoint. The strength in the steps Bridger took with Maggie showed her allure for him, her patience with him, and his need for her....what a story. LOVE. There is so much to discuss about this one...so much.

I want to say, this was one story with many different possible interpretations. On one hand, I can ask why Maggie was so willing to give so much to him when he wasn't willing to give anything. I can easily ask that. But on the other hand, I can admire this woman who has an insane amount of inner strength and patience for a man that has NO clue how to love someone. No clue as to how to let go of his own demons and allow himself to be loved. She had so much compassion for him. To be able to appreciate all that he has gone through, and to still have enough patience to let him work through all his internal issues, she was a very strong woman. I really admired her and she is one of my favorite heroines from SB.

The drama in this book was a very scary scenario!! Maggie went through her own hell that we were introduced to at the end of Wicked Ride when Kyle brought her over to Bridger's house with barely an explanation and left. I was on the edge of my seat by the time things were set in motion and the story was picking up the pace. Things were getting hairy and I couldn't put the book down!

But, true to SB style, things got HOTTER than HOT very quickly. Bridger was so rough around the edges, true to form in every way, but we knew he was hiding some serious pain. Seeing him unfold during this story was fascinating as he truly was a complex character with deep seated issues. But his mouth!!! DIRTY TALKER. I'm so in love....bahahaha!! Bridger and Maggie had a connection unlike any other. So rough on the outside, so tender and deep within. I loved seeing Bridger war within himself how to handle these feelings that were so foreign to him. There was some serious unchartered territory covered between these two, and watching them feel their way around intimacy and a supposed relationship was beautiful. Hard, but beautiful.

"I can't for the life of me figure out what happened to this beautifully fucked-up man to make him feel that way, but it breaks my heart in two."

Excerpt for Neighbors by Stylo Fantome

Excerpt

“Not what I was expecting. You impress me,” he said to her, his voice low.

“I'm flattered. I get the feeling there isn't much you've seen that impresses you,” she said.

“Katya,” he whispered, and she shivered. He so rarely said her first name. “I've never seen anything like you.”

Words like that, and he didn't need to make any deals. He'd barely finished talking, and she was all over him. His assistant was somewhere in the building, Katya was positive the conference room door wasn't locked, and she didn't care at all. Not even one little bit.

She sat down in his lap with such force that his chair rolled backwards, threatening to tip over. She was able to kiss him once, but then his hands were in her hair, yanking her away.

“Ah, but this is supposed to be a punishment, remember? Who said you could kiss me?” he said, and she felt him nipping at the side of her neck.

“Please, I don't want to – AH!” she ended in a shriek when he bit so hard, she wondered if he broke skin.

“Dissension. Tsk tsk, Ms. Tocci. You're on a roll tonight. Get off me.”

She wasn't given a chance to comply. He pulled harder on her hair, and she was forced to follow his hand. She slid off his lap and managed to get her feet under her, still moving with him as he stood up.

Katya was dragged across the room and pressed up against the floor to ceiling window. She gulped at the feeling of cold glass on her hot skin, then moaned when she felt his lips on the back of her neck. She wasn't sure what had gotten into him – their last time together, he hadn't been so aggressive. Maybe she was seeing a new side to him. Or the real him.

Very pleased to meet you, Mr. Stone.

“Please,” she said again, pushing her hips away from the window and rubbing her ass against his crotch. “Please, I need you.”

“Hmmm, that's nice, but I don't think that's what you mean,” he whispered. As he kissed his way down her spine, his hand slowly slid out of her hair and crept over the back of her neck.

“Please, Wulf.”

“'Please, Wulf'. She begs so sweetly, yet still can't get what she wants.”

His free hand was at her hip, yanking and pulling at her underwear. Shoving them down, letting them fall to her ankles. Leaving her in only her bra.

“Please.”

She could feel his suit against her bare skin as he stood upright, and his hand slid around her neck, gently wrapping around her throat. She gasped as she was pulled back, her spine forced to arch as her head was drawn into his shoulder. She planted her palms against the window and started panting while his other hand moved across her stomach.

“Please what?”

“I want ...”

The hand on her throat squeezed tighter, the hand on her stomach moved lower, but neither pushed her over the edge she was so desperately seeking. She stood on the balls of her feet, almost crying from the tension running through her body.

“If you can't even say what you fucking want,” he growled, his breath hot against her face. “I don't know why I should bother giving it to you.”

“Please, I want you to fuck me,” she whispered. The chuckle she heard sounded more like a growl, and she moaned when she felt his tongue against her ear.

“What was that? I couldn't quite hear you,” he hissed.

“Just fuck me,” she hissed right back.

“Just fuck you? That's it? My, your demands are so very simple.”

Alright, Wulfric. You win.

“Please, Wulf,” she purred, placing one of her hands over his own and moving it down between her legs. “Fuck me right now. Right here. Against this window. Fuck me so hard, people down on the street will hear me screaming your name.”

She'd never spoken like that before, to anyone. She briefly wondered if it was too much. If she sounded ridiculous. But then he was slamming his dick into her, and she realized it wasn't too much at all.

Jesus, I should've been talking like this years ago.

“I thought that was going to take you all fucking night,” he groaned as he bucked his hips against her. Slow and gentle certainly wasn't on the menu that night – he just instantly started fucking her like it was his job. She couldn't even respond. Could barely breathe. He was pounding the air from her lungs, and the hand on her throat was ensuring she couldn't suck any of it back in.

“See what happens when you do as I ask? You get rewarded,” he panted, finally moving his hands. She gulped in air greedily and managed to nod.

“Yes. Yes, thank you. God, thank you so much,” she moaned. He gripped her hips and yanked them further away from the glass, forcing her to bend at almost a right angle. The new position enabled him to fuck her even harder, something she hadn't thought was possible. She shrieked with every thrust, her hands beating against the window.

“So polite. So sweet. Katya Tocci, best fucking dessert I've ever had.”

She shrieked again as she was whirled around. She thought she was going to fall over, the position she was in wasn't favorable when competing against gravity, but she didn't have to worry. Wulf always had a plan. She was slammed down against the conference table top. She pressed her cheek to the hard wood and let out a long groan when his hips started banging against her, over and over.

“The best. God, you're the best,” she was whispering. Babbling, unsure even of what exactly she was saying. She had her arms stretched out to the sides, gripping the edges of the table, but he roughly grabbed her right arm and jerked it back.

“Touch yourself,” he commanded, lifting her hips enough so she could work her hand between them and the table.

“Oh my god.”

One press of her fingertips, and she shot off like a starter pistol. Screamed as an orgasm rocked every single nerve ending. She went to pull her hand away so she could bathe in the sensations, but Wulf's hand flattened over her own, his fingers working above hers. She whimpered and cried out as wave after wave of pleasure coursed through her. Became too much for her. Overwhelmed her. Yet still, he wrung more out of her, his fingers pressing even harder. It wasn't until she was lifting her feet off the ground, her free hand pounding on the table top, begging him for mercy, that he let her go.

And immediately, she missed his touch.

Before she could beg him to start all over again, though, he had his own orgasm.

He came with a shout, dragging his nails down her back before grabbing onto her hips. Digging his fingers into her flesh. While he throbbed inside of her, bruises throbbed on the outside of her, and every nerve ending throbbed within her.

“Holy shit, Tocci,” he panted, and she felt him lean forward. Felt his forehead against her back.

“You ... you were ... that was incredible,” she whispered, still finding it hard to breathe.

“I know.”

“Jesus, it was like you were angry at me.”

“I was your little strip tease from earlier pissed me off. How dare you keep something so wonderfully inappropriate from me.”

She managed a laugh.

"Duly noted. Next time I learn a new trick, I'll share it with you immediately.”

Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.
